The imagery of science

Josef Kristifoletti has always been interested in the imagery of science. He flips through many scientific jounals. And like a scientist looking to discover something new to the world, Josef would like to come up with an image no one has ever seen before. Some ideas come to him in his dreams. Like the protein crystals he painted as a mural in Panama City (most of Josef's work are public murals). The protein crystals grow in spave, in micro gravity giving them special prism shapes. As a child Josef was already fascinated by prisms and how they open up the spectrum of light. Possibly that's also where his preference for colors comes from: bright and saturated but still soft to the eye.

Higher color intensity raises the energy level of the painting. To Josef tuning the colors is sometimes like tuning an orchestra. Colors is sort of like going from one tune to another preserving the harmony between them.
